There is an old Chinese proverb: “Gold has a price. Jade is priceless.”

Product Highlights:

  • The Stone: Millions of years of history. This is Burmese jadeite, the world’s high-quality jadeite. It formed deep in the earth during the collision of tectonic plates that created the Himalayas, crystallizing under extreme pressure. Its green comes from trace chromium absorbed during formation. Jadeite is rarer and harder than nephrite, the other form of jade, which is why it became the most prized variety in the world. Set with a vermeil gold logo bead at the center.
  • History: China has valued jade for over 5,000 years, but for most of that history, they worked with nephrite, a milky white stone. When Burmese jadeite reached China in the late 1700s, Emperor Qianlong preferred its rich green over anything he had seen before. He called the finest pieces fei-ts’ui, after the kingfisher bird. It became known as Imperial jade. Empress Dowager Cixi used her political position to acquire it, wearing it publicly as a symbol of power. Confucius assigned jade five virtues: benevolence, righteousness, wisdom, courage, and integrity.
  • The Belief: In modern crystal practice, jade is a heart chakra stone, associated with harmony, balance, and prosperity. In Chinese tradition, jade is believed to protect the wearer and absorb negative energy over time. No other stone on earth has been valued above gold by more civilizations, for longer, than this one.
  • Vermeil Gold: The gold elements are crafted from heavy vermeil. This is a solid sterling silver base coated in 3.5 microns of pure 24kt gold, making it about seven times thicker than standard gold plating. Because we use pure 24kt gold over silver instead of a thin layer over brass, the color is richer and highly durable. If it wears over time, it reveals solid silver beneath, developing character rather than looking cheap. Vermeil has been the standard for premium jewelry since 18th century France.

Our pieces are made with natural gemstones; slight variations in color, size, and pattern may occur.
